Emergent Behaviours is an exhibition that aims to showcase the emergence of generative art, from its inception to the present day, through the works of various artists working with diverse mediums. A central notion in generative art is that of emergence; in some sense more comes out than the artist put in. A generative artist creates a work with some degree of autonomy, which may follow its own internal laws of development or change in response to its environment.
